Rituals & Practices

Under this rubric the project works on a variety of ritual manuals and ritual practices covering primarily the Tibetan, Chinese, Khotanese, Uyghur, and Tangut Buddhist traditions but with focus on Esoteric and Tantric Buddhism. A second aim will be concerned with material culture in religious context and focus on maṇḍalas, talismans, and special iconic features.
