Collaborative Horizons: Exploring the Intersections of Research on Buddhism

The BuddhistRoad team, joined by Emanuel Garatti of CERES, met with Renée L. Ford (Denmark), Neil Schmid (Dunhuang Academy), and Allan Ding (Chicago) to discuss various research topics, the promotion of mutual scholarly exchange, and possible academic collaborations.

During the three days of academic exchange Renée L. Ford gave a guest lecture on December 4th on “Devotion’s Metaphors: Longchenpa’s Homage to Samantabhadra in A Treasure Trove of Scriptural Transmissions”. This was followed by BuddhistRoad Guest Lecture by Allan Ding on 6th December on “Light from the North —Tibetan Manuscripts from the Northern-Sector Caves at Dunhuang and their Significance”. And on 13th December Neil Schmid will give a Guest Lecture on “Connections with the Divine: Religious Life in Dunhuang.”
