BuddhistRoad Guest Lectures on Tibetan Karakhoto manuscripts by two Russian scholars

The BuddhistRoad team invited the Russian colleagues Dr. Alexander Zorin (currently based at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem) and Alla Sizova (currently based in Serbia, preparing for a PhD in Germany) who were formerly responsible for the collection of the Tibetan Karakhoto manuscripts held at the Institute of Oriental Manuscripts in St. Peterburg to give lectures about their research on some texts from this collection.

Dr. Alexander Zorin gave a BuddhistRoad Guest Lecture on 02 February 2023 on “Tibetan Texts on the Cult of Vajravārāhī from Karakhoto” and Alla Sizova presented on 22 February 2023 on the “Tibetan Translation of the Uṣṇīṣavijāyadhāraṇīsūtra Produced in the Tangut Empire”. The contents of both lectures will be published in the BuddhistRoad Paper series later this year.
