BuddhistRoad collaborator continues international academic career
Zhouyang Ma, currently a postdoctoral researcher at the Austrian Academy of Sciences and a long-standing collaborative partner of the BuddhistRoad project, has accepted a faculty position as Assistant Professor at the Centre of Buddhist Studies at the University of Hong Kong. Beginning in August 2026, he will take up this new appointment, marking an important step in his academic career. Over the past several years, Dr Ma has maintained a close academic connection with the BuddhistRoad project through workshops, conferences, and scholarly exchange. His expertise on Buddhism in the Tangut Empire and Eastern Central Asia has contributed significantly to collaborative discussions and ongoing research activities within the field of Buddhist Studies and Central Asian Studies
